Were they? Don’t watch either of these teams that often, so my impressions are limited to this game.
PSG - very mid. They try to control the ball, but it isn’t leading anywhere. I was surprised by their pass accuracy/passes completed because it didn’t seem like that in the game. Like they weren’t able to make good passes in the final third, I don’t even really remember any big chances they had because they couldn’t get into the dangerous areas.
Arsenal- Excellent set pieces. I appreciate it when teams work on set pieces, but sadly you don’t see that that often (like I remember Freiburg a couple of seasons ago was excellent at set pieces). Otherwise, even though I don’t watch Arsenal that often I kind of knew when they went 2-0 up this would probably be the score for the rest of the game. And sure enough. After that 2nd goal Arsenal was mostly trying to control the game and not going for another goal. And ya… they’re good defensively. I quite liked Havertz in this game. As a German, I’m jealous he scores for Arsenal. But even outside of the goal he had quite a good game. Calafiori was a liability in this game, I hope for him that it’s just starting pains.
